As part of the Federal government’s Coronavirus Guidance for America, transportation infrastructure is considered an “Essential Critical Infrastructure.” Additionally, transit capital projects are not subject to the State of California’s Stay at Home order, therefore Metro construction projects continue to progress.
Workers will conduct minor investigatory work along the number 2 lane (curb lane) of the eastbound side of the 1st Street Bridge on Thursday, November 19. One traffic lane will remain available during this work, which is necessary to continue repair on the deck and underneath the bridge.
Please note there will be intermittent noise, such as jack-hammering and limited saw cutting of the road surface. The road surface and traffic lane will be restored after the investigation is complete.

- All work will be limited to one eastbound lane of 1st Street Bridge.
- Lane closure signs will be posted.
The Division 20 Portal Widening and Turnback Facility Project will enhance the Division 20 Rail Yard to allow for improved service times throughout the Metro B Line (Red)/D Line (Purple) system.
