North Side Piling on Constellation Blvd. from Avenue of the Stars to Solar Way

As part of the Federal government’s Coronavirus Guidance for America, transportation infrastructure is considered an “Essential Critical Infrastructure.” Additionally, transit capital projects are not subject to the State of California’s Stay at Home order, therefore Metro construction projects continue to progress.

Since May, the design-builder has continued station box piling in the area east of Avenue of the Stars and has installed approximately 40 percent of total station box piles. Beginning August 4, piling will begin on the north side of Constellation Blvd. west of Avenue of the Stars to Solar Way. This activity requires a full-time partial lane closure on Constellation Blvd. (within the work area). One westbound lane will be maintained from Avenue of the Stars to Solar Way; all other eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed.

Once north side piling is completed in September, the work area will shift to the south side of Constellation Blvd. for south side piling maintaining only one westbound lane of traffic from Avenue of the Stars. This traffic configuration will remain in place through October 2020.
