Metro’s Second Annual Older Adult Transportation Expo Tuesday, Oct. 24, Will Showcase Mobility Options and Services for Exploring L.A. County Without a Car

Tuesday October 24, 2017

Meet older adults who have learned how to make public transportation work for them by joining Metro’s On the Move Riders Program. And hear from the authors of, “Loving LA the Low Carbon Way.”

Hundreds are expected to attend Metro’s milestone 2nd Annual Older Adult Transportation Expo, as L.A. County steps up efforts to make mobility accessible to older adults through discounted fares, special programs and unique training opportunities.

More than 20 organizations and Metro services will be on hand to provide essentials for learning how to get around Los Angeles without a car.

Metro’s On the Move Riders Program will celebrate its 5-year anniversary. Representatives will be available to explain how the program teaches older adults how to explore L.A. County via Metro and other transit operators.

AARP also will be on site to talk about how they’re improving older adult mobility – as well as how AARP can benefit Metro riders.

Media is invited to speak with older adults who are searching for ways to improve their quality of life through increased mobility.
