L.A. Metro Celebrates National Women’s Small Business Month with First-Ever Small Business Summit on October 30

In honor of National Women’s Small Business Month, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will host its first-ever Small Business Summit on Oct. 30.

The summit is presented by Metro’s Women and Girls Governing Council and the agency’s Diversity and Economic Opportunity Department and will provide engaging sessions and workshops that will guide and support small business owners interested in pursuing contracting opportunities. Metro seeks to maximize small business participation on Metro contracts. Metro CEO Phil Washington has focused heavily on increasing gender equality in all aspects of the agency, including the number of contracts for women owned businesses.
