Center Street Project

Metro Art > In The Works > Center Street Project (under construction)

Metro's Center Street Project is a new Metro facility in the Arts District that will provide a central location for Metro security operations, dispatch, and emergency coordination. Read more about the transit project here.

The Center Street Project facility's art program will be a large-scale sculptural relief on the exterior façade facing north and west. Artist Jacob Hashimoto is working in collaboration with the design team to integrate the artwork into the building’s architectural skin. In addition, the construction site will feature a series of banners designed by artists with community input, to be commissioned through the Japanese American Community and Cultural Center (JACCC) for temporary display along the fencing facing Center Street.
